"Disclaimer: I received Ideal Lean protein as part of being a SweatPink Ambassador with Fit Approach and Ideal FIT. Learn more about becoming a SweatPink Ambassador at FitApproach.com
Recently I started counting macros (carbs, protein & fats). This involved taking in a substantial amount of protein, while limiting carbohydrates and fats It can be hard to find a “treat” that fits your macros without taking a toll on your diet. That’s why I was so excited to try Ideal Lean protein.
1 serving of Ideal Lean has just 80 calories and 20g of protein. And it has zero carbs or sugar. Say what? That gets high marks from me.
I tried the cake batter flavor. As in birthday cake – it has sprinkles! There is also pina colada, French vanilla and Chocolate Brownie. Birthday cake is not just pretty too look at, but provides a nice base for whatever fruit you want to add. I used strawberries and it was delicious. Not too sweet, but filling. Just look at those beautiful sprinkles!
Ideal Lean was developed for women by a woman. It fuels athletes all over the country. IdealFIt also makes a variety of other fat burning supplements to improve athletic performance. The macro breakdown is really perfect for any athlete, or anyone focused on building lean muscle mass.

For those of you who follow my blog, you know that I am Ragnar-obsessed. I swore I never wanted to do one, then once I did I was hooked. You can read about my previous Ragnars here – 2015 Ragnar del Sol, 2015 McDowell Mtn Trail, 2016 Ragnar del sol. I’ve done 2 road Ragnars and 1 trail Ragnar. I’ve only done them with strangers, coming in sort of last minute as a “free agent”. I've had a blast every time. One day, I was cruising Facebook and saw a post that Ragnar was announcing a new race…in my home state of Michigan! Not just in MI, but in my favorite city – Traverse City. I couldn’t believe it. I decided right then and there that I needed to be part of the inaugural Ragnar Michigan event. I started putting out some feelers on twitter and immediately had some takers from some twitter friends. I’m happy to finally be doing another race with my buddy Jenn Voss. We’ve been talking about doing a Ragnar together for quite a while. But it is intimidating to put together 12 people that will commit to doing it – from the other side of the country. I posted in Michigan Running Club on Facebook and was able to fill many more spots. A few original people dropped out, but were filled from friends of friends and pretty soon – we were a full team! We are team Un Relay-Ted. Cute, right? The race is Sept 30-Oct 1 and it goes from Muskegon MI to Traverse City, MI. The course hugs the coast for the majority of the race, passing by lake after lake, lighthouse after lighthouse – during the fall color season. I’m so excited, I can’t stand it! Many of the people on the team have never done a Ragnar before, but that doesn’t matter We have 11 ladies and 1 guy. I think 9 live in Michigan, 1 in Illinois, 1 in Wisconsin, and then there’s me all the way out in Arizona. One of the girls has done Ragnar before, so bless her heart she offered to help with logistics like coordinating the vans. I’m freaking out that we are less than 12 weeks away. Haven’t booked a flight yet or anything. The biggest bummer for me is that I’ve been corresponding with everyone for months now and I came to the sad realization that I’m only going to get to know half of these people. Everyone seems so nice, but once you divide into your separate vans, you rarely see your other teammates.
Stay tuned for an update once all our legs have been assigned and get the full team lineup! |
