I’m a big fan of compression tights, for both running and recovery. I was excited to try the new A400 Compression Tights from Skins. I was not previously familiar with this brand, so I was curious to see what they were all about.

It came in shorts, 3/4 capris or full length. I chose capris since that is the most versatile for Arizona weather.

The 3/4 tights are “high rise” – they came up to my belly button. Bonus: it helps keep excess tummy held in and smooth.  The material is very, very soft, and light.  I put them on and they fit like a glove.  Like a second skin, but not super tight like some other compression tights.

Technology behind A 400:
  • SKINS A400 compression sportswear is designed to boost competitive athletes’ natural performance by providing more oxygen to their active muscles using dynamic gradient compression.
  • This technology is designed to help reduce the risk of injury (Yes, Please!) by focusing support on major muscle groups.
  • The miracle fabric in the A400 helps control temperature and moisture. I noticed that I did my tights were not soaked after my run; they were dry and comfortable!
  • Bonus - the material is reflective in low light and has 50+ UV Protection!
I went for a few runs in my tights – they were light enough that I didn’t get hot.  The tights move with you, they don’t feel constrictive or restrictive.

I also used them for recovery after my Ragnar Michigan relay. I wore them the day after for the race. My quads were crying a little from the race, and these tights felt fantastic. I will say that even a small pocket for a key would be a huge plus. The website mentions a waistband pocket, but I did not find a pocket on my pair.

The A400 women's 3/4 tights retail for $119.99 If you want to treat yourself to a pair, you can save 20% with BIBRAVE20 through the month of October!

What size are you? What size did you receive and wear? Did they stay up? May be tmi but...underwear? Did you try to take them off and put them back on while sweaty? Any potential chafing from seams? Thanks for your feedback.

I got a Medium, the A400 3/4 compression tights. No chafing at all. I'm not sure what you mean by putting them back on when sweaty- after the run I threw them in the laundry.

Thanks for your vague review and even less helpful response. Those of us that don't receive free products rely on those of you that do to give us comprehensive feedback on products we are interested in.

I may have rushed through your questions too quickly while I was logging off my computer last night. Let me try this again...I wear a size 8, so I ordered a M and they fit perfectly. Not loose, not cutting off my circulation. They didn't budge while running or walking. I did not go commando. I didn't experience any chafing or rubbing from any seams - but then again I wasn't doing long runs, just 3-4 milers. After my ragnar I wore them for 8 hours without any discomfort. Hope that helps.

Sincere thanks for this response. I appreciate the insight when I'm about to drop a hundred on something. Rock on!
