I was given the chance through SweatPink and Manitoba Harvest to try Hemp Hearts. I’d had hemp seeds in smoothies before, but I’m not sure I had actually tried Hemp Hearts before. My favorite things are salty and savory, more than sweet. I had thrown hemp seeds in my smoothies before, for the extra omegas and protein. Hemp Hearts pack 10 grams of protein and 10 grams of omegas per a 30 gram serving! Believe it or not, Hemp Hearts are actually lower in carbs than flax seeds or chia seeds. They are also raw and vegan! They are just so easy to add to things you already love, to make them even more awesome and healthier! Add them to smoothies, yogurt, salad, cookies, muffins, you get the idea. I added them to PUMPKIN muffins: And yogurt parfaits... And PUMPKIN smoothies... And for something different, added them to my favorite peanut butter energy balls! Their flavor is pretty mellow. Not overly “nutty” and not sweet. Just wholesome goodness.
